One of the joys of urban living is that nearly everything can be reached by foot.  For travel beyond downtown, this is the best place in the county to access public transit.  Sometimes the destination just can't be practically reached without a car and a taxi would be cost prohibitive.  Flexcar had filled that gap with a car sharing program, but Zipcar bought Flexcar and removed the downtown cars.  The search for an alternative has begun.  If you or someone you know is interested in avoiding the ownership of a second or even first vehicle, please visit http://carsharingsd.blogspot.com and send an email to mail@sd-fun.org.
