    From Places/Parks/Existing Parks/Children's Museum Park

Final Status:  John Anderson, the CCDC Project Manager for construction of the park, reports that the year of CCDC involvement has passed and the account has been closed.  CCDC will not be involved in any additions to the park.  John worked to get additions to the park to make it more attractive for a wider range of ages.  He reports that Marty Poirier (the landscape architect) supported the effort with great designs, Rachel Teagle (the Executive Director of the New Children's Museum) agreed to provide the maintenance, and CCDC agreed to fund the changes, but the changes were not approved upon ADA review.  The safety zones of the existing equipment pushed the improvements into the sand area where they would not be sufficiently accessible.  Thanks to all those involved for their efforts!

Fuddruckers (Between 5th and 6th on Broadway) Fuddruckers is finally open, as of Feb 18, 2008.  This isn't much help to the vegetarians, but if you like burgers, you have one more kid friendly option downtown.  (They do offer a veggie burger, but meat is their specialty.) Fuddruckers closed in 2009.
